The short version

The four things people ask first.

These four answers cover what most job seekers want to know first.

  • It is always free

Applying, interviewing, getting placed and staying placed all cost you nothing. Companies pay us when we place someone.

  • You are an ETS employee

On contract assignments you are an ETS employee. Your taxes are withheld, you are covered by workers compensation, and you earn paid sick time.

  • Weekly pay and benefits

You get weekly direct deposit, on-demand earned wages if you need money before payday, health insurance and 401(k) eligibility.

  • You can say no

If an assignment is wrong for you, tell your recruiter. There is no penalty and we will look for something else.

How it works

From applying to your first day.

The process has four steps, and a recruiter guides you through each one.

01

Apply or call

Apply online, call the office nearest you, or walk in. Choose whichever is easiest for you.

02

A recruiter calls you

A recruiter who knows your market calls you within 24 hours and asks what you want in your next job.

03

We match you to real openings

We match you to jobs we are filling right now, and you hear the pay, the shift and the location before you commit.

04

You start, and we check in

We check in on your first day, after your first week and after your first month. If something is wrong, tell your recruiter so we can fix it.

What it costs you

What this costs you, in full.

Working with ETS costs you nothing. Here is how that works.

  • No fee to apply

There is no application fee, no registration fee and no charge for a skills assessment.

  • No fee to be placed

There is no placement fee for you. The company that hires you pays us.

  • Nothing out of your wages

Nothing is deducted from your pay for our service. The pay rate on the job is the pay rate you earn.

  • No charge to end an assignment

You can end an assignment. It may affect what we can offer you next, but there is no fee and no contract penalty.

Everything else

Job seeker questions, answered.

Here are twelve more, in the order job seekers usually ask them.

01

Does ETS cost me anything?

No. ETS is free for job seekers at every stage. Our clients pay us when we make a successful placement, and nothing is ever deducted from your wages.

02

How do I apply for a job with ETS?

Apply online at etsjobs.com, call the office nearest you, or walk in during business hours. Plattsburgh and Troy are (518) 562-4673 and Williston is (802) 540-1070.

03

How soon will ETS contact me?

A recruiter reaches out within 24 hours of your application. If you call during business hours you will usually speak to someone right away.

04

Do I need a resume to apply with ETS?

A resume helps, but it is not required. Many of the people we place start with a phone call, and we build the rest from there.

05

What types of jobs does ETS have?

ETS has jobs in manufacturing, skilled trades, warehouse and industrial, engineering, professional and admin, and healthcare support. We offer contract, contract to hire and permanent roles.

06

Am I an ETS employee or the company employee?

On contract and contract to hire assignments you are an ETS employee until the company converts you. On a direct hire placement you are their employee from day one.

07

Do I get health insurance through ETS?

Yes. Contract workers placed through ETS are eligible for health insurance and a 401(k), and the coverage starts quickly, without a long waiting period.

08

How often does ETS pay?

ETS pays weekly by direct deposit while you are on assignment.

09

Can I get paid before payday?

Yes. On-demand earned wages lets you draw money you have already worked for before the weekly payday, without a payday loan.

10

Will a contract job turn into a permanent one?

Often, yes. Contract to hire is designed for that, and 95% of our contract to hire employees get hired full time.

11

What if I do not like the job?

Tell your recruiter. There is no penalty and no fee for ending an assignment, and we will work to find you a job that fits better.

12

Does ETS do background checks or drug screens?

Sometimes. It depends on the role and the client site, and your recruiter tells you what is required before you go to any job.
